Two others taken to hospital, police seeking cause

Police are investigating the apparent homicide of a young girl at a Howard Johnson hotel in Scarborough on the evening of Feb. 3.

The child was found in distress at the scene before she was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead, police say.

Two other people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Kim McKinnon of Toronto EMS.

The relationship of the two people to the girl remains unknown.

Paramedics arrived at the scene around 4 p.m. after the incident was reported.

Police are waiting for a post-mortem to determine the cause of the girl’s death.
