Former Ryerson professor Anthony Hutchinson was awarded the Citation for Citizenship Award last month. The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration recognized him for helping new immigrants adjust to life in Canada.
He moved to the Malvern area in 1993 and has worked to make the community safer.
Five years ago he helped organize the Malvern Mylife Youth Project, the Malvern Community Coalition and Hoodlinc Youth Organization.
Today he is the CEO of the Brampton Neighbourhood Resource Centre.
