Annual Polar Plunge to take place Saturday at Woodbine Beach

Toronto police will brave freezing temperatures in the Polar Plunge on Saturday to support Special Olympics Ontario.

The ceremony is to begin with remarks from Toronto police chief Mark Saunders at 11:30 a.m.

Participants are to plunge in the ice-cold water at Woodbine Beach shortly after noon.

To participate, plungers pay either the registration fee or raise the money themselves. All funds go to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
