A Canadian Armed Forces reservist is facing charges related to child pornography after Toronto police executed two search warrants on March 10.
The police child exploitation unit searched a residence near Donlands and Danforth avenues. They also searched Canadian Forces Base Borden in Simcoe County.
Police arrested a Canadian Forces reservist training at Base Borden on March 10 in Barrie.
“The member is a reservist with 25 Field Ambulance out of Toronto,” said Daniel Le Bouthillier, spokesperson for the Department of National Defence.
Canadian Forces Military Police are collaborating with the Toronto police in this case, Le Bouthillier said.
He asked that further questions about the investigation be directed to the Toronto police. “As the Toronto Police Service have the investigative lead on the matter, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further.”

Robert Kohlsmith, 30, of Toronto is charged with possession of and accessing child pornography. He appeared in court at Old City Hall on March 11.
