The National Senior Women’s 15s team is preparing to travel to Colorado, London and Cardiff to compete in the Pacific Four Series, as part of their preparation for the Rugby World Cup.

Team Canada will face off against the world No.1 England, as well as Wales and Team USA.

Head coach Sandro Fiorino released his roster for the Fall Tour on Oct.14, only 18 days before Canada’s first game.

Canada is third in the women’s world rugby rankings and with its roster overflowing with experience, and should have the opportunity to make it to a medal match.

“We are very excited to get our Fall Tour underway with this group of players,” Fiorina told Rugby Canada.

Now that the Pacific Four Series has been announced as an annual international competition, it will act as a qualification route for the new three-tier global women’s international 15s competition.

“The Pacific Four Series will provide quality playing opportunities and further support teams as they prepare to compete at Rugby World Cup 2021 in New Zealand next year,” World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont said in a statement.

“We look forward to watching teams compete again at the highest level for what will undoubtedly be a thrilling showcase of women’s elite rugby from some of the best teams in the world.”

With the postponement of the 2021 Rugby World Cup due to the global pandemic, this cross-regional international competition will create a bumper in the schedule.

“Our upcoming matches will provide the competitions necessary for us to continue building as a team as we draw closer to the kick off of World Cup 2021,” Fironino told Rugby Canada.
