There’s something liberating about being outside on two wheels, Lenni Eubanks says. That feeling, she said, sparked an idea that’s become My First Wheels, a charity that accepts donations of bicycles, cleans and tests them, then gives them to kids in need.
Through good times and bad, wins and losses, punches and scrapes, victories and championships, Miranda Jollymore and Ibrahim Kamal promise to always be in each other’s corner. The couple are set to marry Sunday at the same place they met four years ago: Cabbagetown Boxing Club.
“I am against any race that is not of my race,” shouts a man standing near the corner of King Street East and Church Street on Nov. 15. “That is the human race!” A light flicks on, microphones come out and a television reporter stands next to him. The camera’s light acts as a beacon, drawing other journalists.

She’s an entrepreneur, a mother of two and a charity worker. She’s also the first female driving instructor in the Greater Toronto Area. Today, Sarah Devi runs AAMCO Driving School, a business that has grown to include three branches in Scarborough.
“In the same way that Wayne Gretzky changed the paradigm in terms of what we thought of hockey players and what records could not be broken, there’s also been a revolution in surgery,” Dr. Rajiv Singal said.

Centennial came to East York in 1979, moving into the former Ontario Teacher Education College building at 951 Carlaw Ave. That building — essentially unchanged outside, but thoroughly renovated inside several times — first served as the schools of business and continuing education. Later it gained a measure of national fame as the set for CBC’s Degrassi High television series.
