Cancer survivor gives hopeful new face to disease

Tammy Horvath is a former medical social worker. She is a mother, best friend and wife. She is also a cancer survivor. After being diagnosed in March 2004, with two children under the age of five, she was given less than a month to live. Now, seven years later, Horvath is living proof that cancer can be beaten.

Canadian Blood Services reconsiders 1977 ban on donations from gay men

Blood donations are a gift thousands of people depend on to survive. However, due to a 1977 prohibition, many gay men are denied the opportunity to donate. Canadian Blood Services (CBS) has announced it is investigating a change in policy that has banned men who have had sex with men from donating blood.
