Community engagement key for Congress of Black Women of Canada

Once a month, in a staff room at Holy Spirit Catholic School, the Scarborough chapter of The Congress of Black Women of Canada meets. Their goal is to motivate black women to participate in and contribute to the communities in which they live. At Thursday’s meeting the women focused on their upcoming community projects.

Actors pay to perform Shakespeare for young audiences

Wendy Krekeler used to be a professional actor. However, she couldn’t find enough work to make it her career. “You get to a certain age and you just realize you have to have a career and think about retirement,” she said. “I loved being an actor. It was the thing that got me get up in the morning.”
