Special-needs teacher faces sexual assault charges

Police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy at a home in the area of Markham Road and Sheppard Avenue East between Sept. 4, 2012 and March 7, 2013.

The suspect is also accused of assaulting another 12-year-old boy in the same area and there could be more victims, police say.

Charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual interference and assault, is Kearsley Peters, 56, a special-needs teacher at White Haven Junior Public School.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or to leave a tip on Facebook.
