A Toronto man has been charged with impaired driving causing death following a fatal collision on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) on Tuesday.

Police received a call just before 5:15 a.m. alerting them of a Toyota Tundra travelling the wrong way on the QEW in the Niagara bound lanes near Fifty Road in Hamilton. A short while later, the Toyota pickup truck was involved in a head-on collision with a Buick Century just west of Fifty Road.

The driver of the Buick Century was killed in the crash and has been identified as Gregory Morley, 31, from St. Catharines.

Ryan Quatsch, 28, the Toronto driver of the Toyota Tundra, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were found with extensive front end damage.

The OPP is asking anyone who may have seen either of these vehicles prior to the collision to call Provincial Const. Laurens VanDerMark at the Burlington OPP detachment at 905-681-2511.
