BREAKING: Canada’s Van Wyck-Smart claims silver at world para swimming

LONDON — Canada’s Aly Van Wyck-Smart captured a silver medal in the women’s S2 100-metre backstroke on Wednesday evening at the London Aquatics Centre.

The 16-year-old clocked in at 2:39.27 and beat the Americas’ record and her own national record by 2.71 seconds. It is Canada’s third medal of the London 2019 World Para Swimming Championships.
