With Ontarians being requested to limit trips outside once again, Canadian Tire has decided to postpone the launch of Spring on Bastedo.

The event had originally been scheduled to run between April 10 and April 17 in the area of Coxwell and Danforth avenues.

Spring on Bastedo was expected to host colourful, larger-than-life displays of over-sized pool floaties on over 40 front yards along Bastedo Avenue.

According to a statement by Veritas Communications on behalf of Canadian Tire, it is hoped the event will be rescheduled for later in the spring when it’s safe to host outdoor activities again.

The most recent provincial stay-at-home order goes into effect April 8 at 12:01 a.m. when people will again be requested not to leave their homes, except for essential purposes.

According to provincial guidelines, outdoor events and gatherings are prohibited. Only essential retail businesses remain open to shoppers, with new restrictions on what products are deemed essential.

This is Ontario’s second stay-at-home order of the year and its third, overall, provincial emergency.
