Torontonians’ holiday vacation plans affected by low loonie

If you’re having second thoughts about your Christmas vacation plans to the States, you’re not alone. Today the Canadian loonie was trading at 72 cents U.S., the lowest since 2004. According to Flight Centre area leader Sarah Bowden, many Toronto families are shortening their trips to the States due to the low conversion.

New student voices at TDSB meeting

Shams Mehdi goes to Leaside High School in East York, and is also the vice-chairperson of “Student SuperCouncil,” a council that represents Toronto students from grades 8-12. He said the monthly board meeting is important to all students.




Mendicino returns Eglinton-Lawrence to Liberal fold

It was a vote for change, not just for the nation, but also for the communities of Eglinton-Lawrence riding. After the polls closed on Monday night, over 80 supporters of Liberal Party candidate Marco Mendicino gathered at Seoul House restaurant in North York to celebrate his win for the riding as well as the victory for the Liberal Party.
