Teens charged in Humber River murder case

Three teens have been charged with first-degree murder in  the death of 17-year-old Andrew Dowden.

A 17−year−old boy was arrested and charged in the early on Wednesday. Later that evening another 17−year−old boy and a 15−year−old boy were also arrested and charged.

Dowden’s body was discovered on the banks of the Humber River on the evening of July 30 by a passerby walking in the near Humberline Dr. and Humber College Blvd. area. An autopsy revealed he was shot to death.

The first teen charged was scheduled to appear at the Finch Ave. W. courthouse Wednesday. The teens charged Wednesday night were scheduled to appear at the Jarvis St. courthouse Thursday.
